Travellers will soon be able to fly direct between Hong Kong and Bhutan
Flights between Hong Kong and the mystical Kingdom of Bhutan start in January 2025
It’s set to get easier than ever to reach Bhutan for visitors thanks to new direct flights from Hong Kong, which Bhutan Airlines will be launching in January 2025. From January 27, flights to and from Paro will connect the two countries in under 4 hours, improving on the airlines’ current route to Hong Kong, which takes double the flight time and requires a stopover in Nepal, Kathmandu, Singapore or Bangkok.
There will be 16 confirmed flights per year timed to coincide with the peak travel seasons, including Christmas, Lunar New Year and throughout the summer. However, there is no word yet on whether this schedule will increase based on demand in future years. Bhutan’s newspaper Kuensel confirmed that ticket prices will be roughly HK$7,404 for economy class and HK$9,586 for business class.
Bhutan Airlines is the nation’s first private airline and is pushing forward with plans to develop its flight network across Asia, adding Hong Kong to its current list of destinations, which are India, Thailand, Vietnam and Malaysia.
